The National Water Commission (NWC) has announced a programme under which customers with unpaid bills will be offered discounts on their outstanding balances. The programme, which will run from 8 April to 31 May, has been dubbed ‘Pay and Save’ and will be applicable to both active and inactive customers.

The NWC says residential, commercial and condominium customers with outstanding balances 90 days and older, will be offered between 10 and 20 per cent off once they intend to clear the outstanding amounts. Customers with qualifying balances under $100,000 will get 20 per cent off, while accounts with balances between $100,000 and $500,000, will qualify for a 15 per cent write off. Balances of more than $500,000 will qualify for a 10 per cent discount.

Meanwhile, the water utility company says there is also the option of paying 50 per cent of the balance owed and agreeing to a payment arrangement for the remainder, over a specified period. But customers must note that failure to complete the payments by the date specified, will nullify the agreement and rescind the discount offer.  This payment programme to help delinquent customers is not the first from the water utility company.

During the period December 2022 – January 2023, customers were automatically entered into a Splash and Dash promotion if they paid their bills on time and in full. These customers were rewarded.
